A Nice Cold Pint, and a Really Good Meal in London

,

After a hard day’s work, we all have our own way of relaxing.  Midweek, that ranges between anything from sitting on the sofa for a good film, to blowing off steam in the gym and sauna.  However, on a Friday night after a successful week, treating yourself to a few drinks and a hearty meal in good company can be the most satisfying things to do.  Here are three of the best kept secrets in London, for good food, cold beer, refreshing cocktails, and a chilled atmosphere.

The Longroom.

This rustic restaurant is a great place to let your hair down and relax.  While the menu may appear simple, the ingredients are fresh, and are of the highest quality.  The restaurant has a ‘pub’ feel to it, with exposed brickwork and uncomplicated fuiture, and the staff are laid back but efficient.  There is a private space for 30 people available to hire here, which is perfect for a night of good food, beer and relaxed enjoyment.

The Nag’s Head

If you’ll be wanting to keep an eye on the scores, The Nag’s Head is the place for you.  Technically a sports bar but with a gastro twist, you can see a screen from everywhere you sit in this venue! Offering authentic, home made pizza, burgers that are so big they must be dismantled before consumption, enormous jugs of exotic cocktails and an unusual selection of lagers, this is a great place for a sports-mad date with an appetite, or a classic lad’s night out.  The venue can be hired privately too – you can contact a venue finding service to arrange this quickly and easily.

Coey & Barrow’s Fleet Place Bar.

If the sun has got his hat on, this is the place to be.  Fleet Place has a fantastic outdoor area, complete with a barbecue that serves amazing food into the night.  The terrace traps the sun, but there are also heaters to keep you warm once the night comes.  You’re sure to stay around well into the evening, with the extensive cocktail, wine and spirits menu, as well as having the option to pop back to the barbecue for seconds, thirds, maybe more! If you’re as impressed by the food as we think you’ll be, you may even be tempted to visit them the following moing for an outstanding Full English….
