The Tate Mode is a favourite amongst London’s tourists and its locals, a prominent feature of the city skyline and an iconic hub of contemporary culture. While this triumph of 21st century design houses priceless works of art and welcomes thousands of people through its doors every day, not many are aware that The Tate Mode also serves as a multi-purpose events venue. There are no less than 7 spaces available for hire here once the doors close to the public, each offering a unique and exciting opportunity for hosts to impress and accommodate their guests in style within one of London’s most famous landmarks.
The Tate Mode Café is a fresh, colourful space with imaginative design elements and global appeal. It offers a very stylish environment for dinner and dancing, with the floor-to-ceiling glass windows allowing up to 350 guests to enjoy views of the River Thames and St Paul’s Cathedral over cocktails and canapés, or 200 to be seated for a meal with space left over for a party.
For even better views, The East Room is situated on the 6th floor of The Tate, and has panoramic views stretching for miles over London. The white walls here can be lit up in an array of both subtle and striking colours, and this rectangular room offers moveable sofas, tables and chairs able to sit 100 for dinner or house 150 standing.
If you’d like some outdoor space for your event, the ultra-chic Members Room holds 130 and has large exclusive balconies on the North and South sides, offering breath-taking sights of the river and the bustling South Bank.
The Tate Mode Restaurant transforms into a sleek and cosmopolitan space after business hours, and becomes a blank canvas space textured by rough-cut unpolished oak floors, with a splash of colour added by a beautiful, abstract and specially commissioned wall mural.
The Starr Auditorium is a specialised conferencing and presentation room, specifically designed to meet the needs of the corporate market. Also available for hire during the day, this luxurious cinema-style suite comes fully equipped with HD screen, a large enough stage for talks and lectures, 35mm and 16mm projection facilities and high quality stereo. Hire of the Auditorium also includes the use of The Starr Foyer, which has been cleverly laid out to accommodate a registration area to welcome up to 240 delegates, a large open space for catering and taking refreshment, and a private breakout room.
The Level 3 and Level 4 concourses offer you the chance to celebrate in style and hold the party of a lifetime, or a memorable corporate entertaining event for up to 400 guests. With versatile lighting rigs and a built in sound system, these beautiful contemporary spaces also features striking works of art, and provide a unforgettable background for black tie events.
The Realisms Gallery is a smaller, more intimate room – perfect for business meetings or lavish private dining. 80 guests can be served dinner here, and this room is certain to have conversation flowing all night. A slightly novel experience, eating here is rather like eating in the galleries themselves. White walls and light wooden floors are complimented by rare and beautiful paintings, and the hospitality team here will set you a silver service table complete with perfect floral arrangements.
All the food served here is prepared on site with all profits going back into the Tate itself. We can particularly recommend the fish – which is line caught in Cowall and delivered fresh for your event. All the vegetables and salads are sourced from organic farms, and the wine list has been selected by expert sommeliers.
