Boat venue in Edinburgh for private and corporate functions

,

The Royal Yacht Britannia is a spectacular setting for you to enjoy private dining fit for royalty.  Launched in 1953, the yacht proudly served the Royal Family for many years, and this symbol of the Commonwealth has sailed over a million miles in service to Queen and country.  It has seen royal honeymoons, family holidays and receptions, and you can now host the dinner party of dreams on board this famous and historic ship.

Only the finest Scottish ingredients are used at this venue, and every detail is thoughtfully executed with quite amazing skill.  Anywhere between just 8 and 196 people can be seated for dinner on board, and all will be greeted with an exceptionally high standard of service, including an expert Sommelier to guide you through your chosen wine list.  You can also create your very own bespoke package here, and can serve anything from canapés to steak – all freshly prepared in the Royal Galleys.

This ship played an enormous role in our Queen’s life, and evidence of her understated style is everywhere.  Restored but unchanged, the décor of this 1950’s space is truly remarkable.  In fact, this is the first Royal Residence The Queen owned that she could decorate personally, and the distinctive blue colour on the exterior was inspired by that of a wedding gift to her and Prince Phillip – an enormous racing yacht named Bluebottle. These personal touches are everywhere, and a tour of the boat can be arranged upon request, to lea more about royal life on board.

Entertainment was something that was taken very seriously on the ship in its days of service, and it has hosted parties for inteational royalty and celebrities for 60 years.  You can have a swing band on the deck under the stars for a night of jolly entertainment with beautiful views of Edinburgh, maybe a harpist to lead you through your dinner, or perhaps a jazz trio for some laid back fun.  The atmosphere and décor on board this unique and stunning venue lends itself to homeliness, warmth and welcome, while adapting quickly to keep up with a lively evening party!
