Chilford Hall is a new venue with excellent facilities for corporate events, which has been re-built after a devastating fire in 2011. The venue now features a beautiful contemporary barn with traditional design elements, with a maximum of 250 people seated in theatre style. A truly charming space, you’ll find exposed beams decorated by ancient cart wheels, a polished, scratch-resistant yellow brick floor and traditional lantern lights that give a warm, flattering glow. Also ideal for wedding receptions of up to 200 people (seated in cabaret style, with space for a dance floor), this adaptable rectangular blank canvas is easily adapted to suit more unusual requests.
There is also a Pavilion here, which is a permanent marquee set in its own private lawned garden. This is a perfect place for a summer event, as again, the layout of this space is completely flexible and blank canvas, but you have the bonus of having the outdoor space where you can set up a barbecue, or even a traditional garden party style picnic. Anywhere from 10 up to 5000 people can be accommodated at Chilford Hall, and with several events spaces to choose form (both al fresco and inside), a site visit is highly recommended for you to hand-pick your chosen space. Function Fixers have had a look around and are happy to advise you on which area would best suit your needs.
This venue also benefits from being less than an hour’s drive from Central London and just 15 minutes from Cambridge, easily accessible from the M11, A11 and A1307, and with good rail links just a short taxi ride away. Onsite parking is available and the venue boasts 1000 spaces – as well as a designated area for helicopter landing!
The Chilford Hall Vineyard Tour & Tasting is proving very popular with both visitors and event guests. In the short time it has been open for business, Chilford Hall has already won seven prestigious awards, including Wine of the Year in 2010 and 2012, and the EAVA Founder’s Trophy for best Red Wine in East Anglia 2013 – with a silver medal and two bronze medals to accompany it.
The tour begins in the Winery and takes you through the process of making this delicious produce, and ends with a good old-fashioned swill & thrill in the Bistro. The advice includes tips on how to choose the best English wines according to their year and region in which they were made, then you’ll have the best exam ever created: ‘guess which lovely wine you’re drinking’. What could be better?!
Tours are available from March until the end of October, and have to be booked well in advance due to the high demand. If you’d like a sample of what to expect, Function Fixers can arrange a tour and lunch for just £69.95. This will buy TWO people some tea and coffee on arrival (and a chance to snoop about the events spaces), a two course lunch to give you an idea of the fantastic catering services on offer, the full tour and wine tasting experience, and a complimentary bottle of wine to take back to the office – because of course, you’ll want the approval of your colleagues! If you’d prefer to keep it a little more simple, just £20 will get you afternoon tea at 2pm, followed by a tour and wine tasting at 3pm.
Call Function Fixers now to take advantage of these incredible sample offers, or to learn more about booking your next event at Chilford Hall.
