Boasting a picturesque position in the Peak District National Park, Tissington Hall offers an exclusive and idyllic location for your wedding day. This stunning 17th century mansion is set in manicured gardens that are full of colour and life in the summer months (the venue is only available for bookings between April and October), and the function rooms inside the venue are both spacious and flexible, making them perfect for bespoke events.
Fully licensed for civil marriages and civil partnerships, Tissington Hall can offer truly stunning events spaces for both your ceremony and reception. The stone flagged Main Hall features an enormous Jacobean fireplace and a long aisle between 100 seats.
The more intimate Drawing Rooms (75 guests) offer beautiful views of the front lawns and Rose Garden. If you’re lucky enough to book your wedding on a really beautiful day, the venue can even arrange for a last-minute outdoor ceremony under the arcade on the Terrace.
If you’d prefer a church wedding, the historical Norman Church of St. Mary is just a short (and flat) walk from the venue, through the postcard-perfect village and up the grand driveway of Tissington Hall, where you can greet your guests with a canapé and champagne reception.
Your wedding reception can take place in a number of locations, but most couples opt for the stunning marquee within the grounds. The Arboretum Pavilion seats 150 for an award-winning wedding breakfast and is a custom-built marquee, which has large picture windows framing views across the parkland. After dark, the tall trees surrounding this secluded outdoor area are lit up to provide a truly stunning backdrop and a real sense of occasion. There are proper toilets in this marquee, along with an effective heating system and romantic lighting from the resident crystal chandeliers. For drinks and dancing, this marquee features a delightful starry-sky ceiling, and there’s also a furnished and sheltered chill out area that has its very own bar.
For accommodation, there are a huge number of hotels and B&Bs in this popular holiday spot, but for the bride and groom, Tissington Hall can offer something really quite special. In the village down the road, this venue own a charming cottage that’s big enough to sleep four but small enough to provide newlyweds with an intimate, secluded destination for their first night together.
Sleeping four but also perfect for two, Gardener’s Cottage is newly refurbished and offers every manner of modern convenience a 21st century couple may need. A lovely private garden is the perfect setting for breakfast in the sun, with far-reaching views and access to plenty of woodland walks. All your linen, towels, maid service and other hotel-style essentials are provided, and Function Fixers can also arrange incredible deals here for honeymooners should you wish to stay on a little longer.
