The Wallace Collection is a spectacular venue for corporate entertaining and private parties. Situated in a prime location just off Oxford street, this palatial town house occupies almost an entire side of a beautiful garden square, and provides a stunning space for entertaining.
There are 25 galleries here, containing rare and sometimes priceless displays of 18th century French art. The museum itself also contains masterpieces by some of the most recognizable names of European art, such as Hals, Rembrant and Titian. The galleries at The Wallace Collection are indeed impressive, but this building has been configured to be adaptable and welcoming when accommodating events. The contemporary glazed Courtyard allows for dinner and dancing under the stars, in truly unique environment.
The Events Team here provides a professional management service that is tailored to your needs, and is certain to create an event that leaves a lasting impression. All of the profits generated by hiring the venue go towards the conservation and care of both the artworks and the building itself, as well as contributing to the events and exhibitions programmes, so this is a fantastic place for an art-lover to host a function. Tours of the collections can be easily arranged, and the fee is £150 for a Guide – the size of the tour group is up to you, but around 20 to 30 people works best in terms of movement and flow.
Only available to hire in the evening, the Courtyard occupies the centre of the venue and is approached through enormous French doors – giving a real sense of occasion and allowing for a fantastic entrance for brides & grooms, hosts, or guests of honour. A total of 140 people can be seated for dinner in this space, while the Main Gallery upstairs can host a standing reception for up to 400. Adaptable as a party venue, The Main Gallery allows uninterrupted floor space, and facilities for setting up a live band or other entertainment.
Pre-dinner cocktails, champagne or aperitifs can be held in your choice of the first floor galleries, giving you the chance to enjoy your drinks while having an exclusive view of world-famous works of art.
For more intimate dinners, the ground floor of this building offers an elegant and classical Dining Room able to seat 40 people. The Dutch Galleries each hold 30, and display stunning works of art, and there’s also The State Room – a rich, warm, red, opulent room that seats 30 people among ornate antique furniture and beautiful scenic paintings.
Surprisingly, there’s also a 150 seat lecture theatre here. With a raked floor, contemporary AV fixtures and a small break out room, this makes an ideal venue for a small conference or private screening. A list of caterers is available, all offering good quality food and able to create bespoke menus to suit your requirements and budget.
