Freemasons Hall is one of Manchester’s most impressive and prestigious wedding venues. Three large events spaces able to hold a maximum of 200 people are available here, each with their own charm, elegance and advantages. There is also a selection of smaller function rooms for more intimate occasions, but only one room holds a civil ceremony license – and what a room it is.
Civil wedding ceremonies are held in the Main Hall, which can seat up to 200 guests. This spectacular room has marble columns towering up to the double-height domed ceiling. You’ll have a long aisle, which is accessed by a small flight of stairs – making a truly grand and theatrical entrance for the blushing bride. The acoustics in here are just fantastic, so if you were planning on having a vocalist, acoustic guitar or any other kind of gentle live music, it really will sound beautiful in this perfectly crafted room. There is no natural light at all here, so you can customise the environment with some simple coloured lighting and candles to create a moody and romantic atmosphere, and even just minimal decorations will make a big impact.
There are two spacious and sophisticated suites available for large wedding receptions of up to 200 people at Freemason’s Hall.
The Derby Suite is accessed directly from the Main Hall, and is the most elegant in the building. Stunning cornice detailing and an imposing domed ceiling are intricately decorated in gold leaf, creating a truly luxurious space for a traditional wedding. Complete with a dance floor and a separate private bar, there’s also plenty of natural light in this room and you can configure your seating plan and general layout to suit your exact requirements. Hiring the Derby Suite and Main Hall together creates a seamless flow for your ceremony and reception, and plenty of essential facilities (toilets etc.) are within easy reach.
The Goulburn Suite is on the second floor, and provides a blank canvas space particularly suited to themed weddings. This room also has a domed ceiling, but is slightly more subtle and refined in its décor. A feeling of space, light and comfort is achieved with large windows, stylish patterned carpet (with wooden dance floor) and a stunning central focal point – an enormous circular lighting unit in the middle of the ceiling. Giving off a warm, almost candle light-like glow, this light can be dimmed and brightened as you see fit. This room overlooks the Main Hall from a galleried entrance, so your guests still get a feeling of flow and consistency within the building. The Goulburn Suite boasts its own private bar and also has a small room to the rear – perfect for storage or as a place for entertainers to use as a break-out space.
This venue is licensed for live music and serving alcohol until midnight, and your guests won’t be hurried out of the building at the end of the night. The staff are constantly striving to deliver the upmost levels of service, and if anything, they’ll offer those who could do with a little help an arm to escort them to their taxi.
Function Fixers can arrange your wedding here for just £46 per person. This includes room hire, drinks for the reception and sparkling wine for the toasts, a spectacular wedding breakfast, and either a sit-down evening meal or a buffet.
This high-end venue is sought-after and difficult to book – especially at this price – but we have a long-standing business relationship with Freemason’s Hall, so are able to negotiate fantastic all-inclusive packages like this on your behalf. You really won’t find a better price – so call us free of charge today to fine out more. Remember, our service is free too – so you really could save yourself a small fortune on a luxury wedding!
