The winter wonderland is well and truly on it’s way, and Christmas is one of the only things to look forward to in winter. Transporting your guests into a fantasy surrounding isn’t as out of reach as it may sound – here are two London venues which, in the festive time of year, transform into unrecognisable environments, to give you the ultimate themed party.
Moments from Liverpool Street Tube Station in Central London, the already impressive Honourable Artillery Company is set within beautiful gardens. Within these grounds is a marquee, and inside the marquee, lies a space that will drop every jaw that passes through its doors. 200 to 900 people can be seated for a meal and a staggering 1800 can be housed for a reception, and this venue offers more than just sheer magnitude. The food and drink packages are reasonably priced and of high quality. Small details such as a cloakroom have been considered carefully, and the venue have a creative team who can transform this space into a stunning themed environment which is professional and magnificent.
This name will ring a bell with any clubbing enthusiast. The infamous Electric Flamingo Nightclub was an establishment opened in 1980s Miami. The royalty of the city’s nightlife attended this infamous bar, only the coolest of the cool were allowed in, and it was notoriously (and very publically) shut down in in early 90s after the police discovered evidence of tax evasion. A great shame for those who never got the chance to experience it…but for Christmas 2013, it’s coming to London. The Brewery, an existing nightclub on Chiswell Street, is re-opening its doors to reveal a full-on Electric Flamingo theme. If you were lucky enough to experience the now historical original Miami venue, you’ll recognize a thing or two – if you never had the chance to go, this is the perfect opportunity for a sneak back in time to catch a glimpse of this legendary atmosphere.
