Hold your next event at Westminster Abbey!

,

Westminster Abbey has played host to some of the most important historical events our country has seen.  Both English and Inteational clients, colleagues and visitors have enjoyed its hospitality for 1000 years, ever since the first crowning ceremony was held there in 1066 – William The Conqueror being, of course, it’s first famous royal to be initiated into the monarchy.

This stunning and globally famous venue has now opened its doors to events of all kinds.  There are a grand total of five spaces available, and whether it be a corporate event, private function or wedding reception, this memorable venue is certain to impress in all areas, to all involved.

Cheyneygates is a space more suited to conferences and lectures.  60 people can be housed for a standing reception here, and The Library, which adjoins onto the space, is a perfect breakout zone or preparation area.  If you would prefer a boardroom style, you can seat 26 comfortably, and can arrange the layout around the enormous arched window as an impressive focal point.  AV equipment, including a projector with USB connection, is already in place here – but amplification needn’t be worried about, as the high ceilings and stone walls provide ample acoustics.

The Undercroft Museum is available to hire for private functions.  The impressive collection of religious and historical artifacts here is rare and humbling, and includes Nelson’s effigy – apparently a striking resemblance to the man himself, according to his peers at the time!  Canapés and drinks can be enjoyed whilst admiring the admiral, royalty and famous religious figures’ objet d’art.

During the summer, the East Cloister is the perfect destination for the ultimate in luxurious parties.  Offering stunning architecture of huge stone arches and ancient flooring, this is an extraordinary events space.  Dinner for 80 or a reception for 100 can be enjoyed here, and the surroundings are sure to be a topic of conversation for the entirety of the evening.

For an unforgettable summer party, or wedding reception, you and up to 500 guests can spend your evening in The College Garden.  Ancient flora and herbs reside here, and some have been in place and in use by the monastery and abbey for 900 years.  Enclosed by the 14th century stone walls, your party can have a totally private, yet expansive celebration in this unique outside space.

In 2012, the abbey installed a restaurant, known as The Cellarium.  This is a mode space that has been built within the 14th century food store for the monks and nuns of the abbey.  A real ambience of warmth and care resides here, and 40 people can be seated comfortably for a meal of local produce, fresh ingredients and seasonal components.

In fact, all the catering here is readily available for any kind of event, and packages can be negotiated with your numbers and budget in mind.
