There are many themed restaurants in London, covering a huge range of cultures, demands and requirements. For family fun there’s The Rainforest Café where cheeseburgers and nuggets can be enjoyed in the company of animatronic life sized gorillas, and for a night of thrills and spills, you could indulge in a little private dining at The London Dungeon and have your starters served by skeletons. For a simple dinner and drinks, however, it’s difficult to find the lines between romance and tackiness, theatrical and over-elaborate.
Chakana offers a fantastic, outer-worldly and magical experience right in the heart of London. This fascinating party venue is unique to the city, and has been adapted and modelled from tip to toe, to form a captivating Inca-themed club.
This amazing nightspot will have you looking around in awe for the duration of your event. Imaginative and mysterious decorative curiosities are met with a creative and extensive menu – but be warned, this is not a place for the unadventurous. Some of the most unusual cocktails in London have been created here, all themed around the peculiar and mystifying world of this ancient culture.
Humorous touches are everywhere in the form of cheeky monkey models and bizarre maps of the stars, and you can find all sorts of interesting nooks and crannies to call home for an evening. Ideal for a more unusual first date, a night out with friends or as a place for a stunning private event, Chakara has it all.
Dancers, live musicians and waiters in costume and character make this venue a truly vibrant and very authentic scene, and the title of the club, Chakara, means ‘the tree of life’ in ancient Inca. The club has even dedicated a bespoke drink to celebrate this clever little detail, aptly named ‘The Tree of Live Shots’ – an array of spirits using cocoa leaves and spices, presented in little bamboo shot glasses, balanced carefully on the cut branches of a prehistoric tree. Talk about a drink with a difference!
Just off Marylebone and in the beating heart of London’s West End, this really is a spectacular events venue. Packages are available for parties, private hire and corporate events, but if you’d like to serve food for your guests, this requires extra arrangements depending on your budget and what you’d like to serve. The venue has no fixed menus as such – even the cocktail menu varies so seasonal fruits can be used – so it really does depend on where, how and what you’d like for your event.
Private functions here can take place on most weeknights and the venue hosts a 3am license, but if you need to book a Friday or Saturday night, then this already needs to be done about a year in advance – which is a real credit to just how great an impression this new venue has already made on London’s night scene. Call Function Fixers to hear about last-minute cancellations and openings at Chakara for 2014, to book at a bargain price for a future date, or simply to reserve an area within the club for a party!
