Outstanding corporate events venue – The RAF Museum, London

,

The RAF Museum London is an impressive and well-equipped location for a corporate event, exhibition or conference.

The newly redecorated Lecture Theatre features tiered seating for up to 224 people, with individual folding writing tablets and a state-of-the-art AV setup. This space is available during both daytime and evenings, either individually or in conjunction with the Museum’s other event rooms. The Lecture Theatre has access for production crews directly from the main car park, and comes with a team of technicians for your technical support. The space is facilitated to host larger, more complex presentations, and control of the AV gear can be taken by either the speaker at the lecte or from the projection room – which overlooks the raised stage, and houses all the controls for the speakers and lights within the room.

The Art Gallery is a particularly useful and well-placed room to use for break outs and a registration space for events in the Lecture Theatre, and also as a fascinating location for buffets with stunning views of the collection of aircraft in the Historic Hangars below. Catering is made to order, and home-cooked using fresh and seasonal ingredients. Hot bowl food, buffets and sandwich bars are the most commonplace options for conferences and corporate events, but the Museum often plays host to wedding receptions and is proficient at arranging sit-down meals for up to 150 people.

The Dermot Boyle Wing (named after the founder of the Museum, Sir Dermot Boyle) is a versatile blank canvas suite that covers a whopping 480 square meters of almost completely empty space. It can be divided in two to form separate self-contained areas, referred to as the Cosford Room and the Locking Room. The adaptability of this wing can makes it an ideal exhibition space for a product launch or exhibition, and the 6m tall ceilings allow for larger displays. The carpeted floor helps to dampen reverb, and they space has its own private loading bay – as well as phone/fax lines, ISDN, and 3-phase power supply.

Hosting your event at the RAF Museum means that you have everything you need for a successful function already in place. A large-capacity, purpose-built lecture theatre with high quality projection screen and raised stage, enormous blank canvas space in which to host an exhibition, launch or corporate event, catering on site, a small range of intimate meeting rooms able to hold up to 20 people, and a hugely impressive backdrop. Planes hang for ceilings everywhere from super-sized bolts and wires, sparkling clean and lit up in colours.

You could host a reception surrounded by wartime Spitfires, or arrange a guided tour of the exhibitions for small groups.  Even if planes aren’t really your thing, this is an enchanting leaing experience – the staff’s enthusiasm will instantly draw you in, and you’ll lea more about history and sociology than you will about engines and wings. However, if there are any aviation-mad high-flyers amongst you, there isn’t a question they could ask without getting an accurate and informative answer.
