Properties to Hire Exclusively for Weddings

,

Hiring a venue exclusively for your wedding gives you flexibility, allows you to personalise a lot more, and gives you a lot more freedom and convenience.  It means that your guests can be accommodated on site, you don’t have to do any moving around (and therefore the champagne can flow all the more readily) and you can have a real hand in overseeing the preparations and proceedings.  Here are three fabulous venues, all with their own plus points.

Riverbank Lodge, Gloucestershire.

This stunning venue has brilliant transport links, and a number of other practicalities.  The kitchen is very well equipped, which makes it ideal for self-catering, and the bedrooms are charming – each with a view of the surrounding countryside, river or landscaped gardens.  Inside, you will find a glorious traditional log fire in the lounge and tasteful décor throughout.  The venue can also organize for day trips to the local spa, cruises along the river, cycling days and can also point you down the river to the old country pubs and National Trust properties.  So, if you’re staying for the weekend, Riverbank Lodge has a lot to offer!

Orchardleigh House, Somerset.

This venue is the stuff of dreams.  Don’t read on unless you have a seriously chunky budget! You could have your ceremony in the picturesque and unique Island Church, a small church holding 150 guests, on a grassy island on the lake.  Then, treat your guests to the five star food on offer – the chef here uses ingredients sourced only from the land and animals reared by the busy staff that take care of this incredible Victorian Stately Home.  The dancing and drinking can go on all night, and for the more sensible among us, there are 550 acres of ground and an 18 hole golf course to explore.   There are also self-catering cottages available, able to sleep up to 65 people, so you can have a large number of wedding guests present for a whole weekend if you like!

Old Seldon Ba – West Midlands.

If you’re not looking to accommodate your guests, but do want to hire a venue exclusively, this could be a great option for you.  Your marriage can take place in the traditional and pictorial ceremony room, and then you can simply move your guests a yard or two across to the stunning, purpose built Ba for the reception.  There is loads of space for you here, with enough room to have tables for eating and a raised dance floor, so there will be no awkward re-arranging of chairs before you start pulling the shapes! The lovely patio area provides a perfect place to chill and gaze over the grounds, but this venue certainly knows how to have a party!
