This trendy and vibrant part of London is always on the move and encourages alteative styles and tastes.  There are hundreds upon hundreds of restaurants and bars here, but Bitter Sweet are unique in terms of the menu they provide and the surroundings they have created.  There’s elements of A Space Odyssey, with smooth white walls and ceilings curved over to form cozy private booths with stylish minimalist fuiture and funky deep purple lighting.  You’ll also find the occasional corridor or semi-private space which has been clad in textured gold leaf and sumptuous velvet armchairs, and one futuristic function room which, frankly, would very much suit the likes of a young Luke Skywalker.  Do forgive the pop culture references, but this is definitely a pop culture venue!

The drinks menu will have you grinning from ear to ear.  You won’t find very many recognisable old classics, as you’re expected to push the boat out at Bitter Sweet, but most of the ingredients are familiar – even if the combinations aren’t! You simply have to trust that the bar staff are experts, and this menu has been cleverly and extensively figured out by people who clearly have a screw(driver) loose but really, really know about flavours and enjoy being completely out of the ordinary.  This bar is called Bitter Sweet because that is the basic premise of their cocktail menu.  Chilli and chocolate, lime and sugar, and strawberry liquorice are just a few of the bizarre and strangely tempting combinations, and if you are hiring a space here to celebrate an occasion, you’ll also be able to have a traditional toast with luxury champagne – although you’ll have never heard of the label and are likely to be presented with a bottle which proudly displays a cheeky label with a strange image or humorous scene.  We can guarantee, however, that whatever liquid you order here at Bitter Sweet may not be conventional, but it will certainly be delicious and you’re likely to get a giggle out of it along the way.  What could be more London that that?! 

This venue is available to hire both during the day for corporate events, and there are both semi-private and private spaces where you can have a party in the evening.  Bitter Sweet is licensed until 3am and has resident DJs who, true to form, will choose a hearty and unpredictable set list that you’re unlikely to hear in any other London bar!  Brilliant but totally weird, they will definitely have you dancing all night – even with the occasional cringe, nostalgic comment (‘do you remember our haircuts back then…?’), or reference to some tragic adolescent fashion disaster.  As the night goes on, the music will music will become more and more contemporary, and you’ll finish with deep funky house, chilled UK Hip Hop and sexy rumbling bass lines.
