Top 10 Unusual Meeting and Conference Venues in London

,

Have you ever been required to attend a meeting or conference?  Has it been in a dull, typical meeting room in an equally dull hotel or conference centre?  There are so many meeting and conference venues on the market that tick these boxes, and it is very likely that your heart sinks when your boss announces that there is a company meeting coming up and you are all expected to attend. What springs into your mind?  A hot, stuffy room with blank walls and a horrible patterned carpet to hide any dirty marks?  Limp or stale sandwiches for lunch with lukewarm tea and coffee?

Well, times have changed, even though your boss’s concept of a meeting room may be firmly set in the 90’s.  There are so many unique and unusual venues which have opened their doors for business in the past 20 years, which are providing a whole new way of holding a meeting or conference.  Gone are the dull, stuffy rooms, gone are the awful carpets and also gone is the very poor catering.  Of course, if you heart is set on one of these you can still find them, but we have unearthed a plethora of stunning venues which are sure to make your next event exciting and successful and boost attendance.

Here is our top ten picks of unusual meetings and conference venues in London:

Curzon Cinemas

In recent years, cinemas have undergone a big transformation – no longer are they the dark and dingy places we would go to watch a film and eat popcorn – the transition has brought a totally 21st century experience and they have opened their doors to corporate business too.  Most have large screening rooms for a few hundred and also some smaller, much more intimate screening rooms too.  All of the screens have top notch AV facilities and make perfect locations for small or large conferences with great foyer break out space.

Whilst our focus has been on more unusual meeting and conference venues, there is a new breed of hotel on the block now too:

The Mondrian

Formerly the Sea Containers House which remained empty for many years, The Mondrian was the brainchild of the Morgan Hotel Group. It opened a couple of years ago and offers a totally different experience to traditional hotels.  Whilst the meeting and conference spaces are on the Lower Ground floor, what they lack in natural daylight, they certainly make up for in facilities and decor.  With a capacity of up to 275 in this Studio Floor, there are also other smaller rooms and of course the amazing rooftop cocktail bar which is also available to hire.
