What will you be doing for Valentines Day this year? Whether you’re and old romantic or a nu-age lover, there’s something for everyone in our great capital city…

Barts Pathology Museum

Wed Feb 4 – Thu Feb 26

A pathology museum is the ideal venue for an anti-Valentine’s show, and artist Robin Lee will be guiding visitors around a multimedia exhibition of photos of augmented hearts, all of which are captioned by the people (fictional) who have donated their organs to this exhibition. The museum also houses thousands of genuine medical specimens, and the audio tracks are available to download to your iPad.  A bloody mary and canapés are included in the ticket price.

Down With Dating

The Phoenix

Wed Feb 11 – Thu Feb 12

Introducing ‘Speed Hating’ and ‘Blind Hate’, this is a fantastic way to meet other people who find the idea of speed dating totally abhorrent but have accepted that, actually, it’s quite a good way to meet people. There’s also a ‘Gay Down With Dating’ on the second evening.

Valentine’s Cook and Cruise

Elsdale Floating Classroom

Sat Feb 14

Here, Chef Manju Malhi will teach visitors to create a Garam Masala spice blend before they tuck into a three-course feast of delicious Indian food. Couples get a glass of champagne each to sip, and a cash bar will stay open for the duration of the night.

Wed Feb 4 – Thu Feb 26

Barts Pathology Museum

Columbia Creative brings its stunning blooms back to Boxpark this February.  You can buy ready-made bouquets, make your won customized posy, or pick and choose from the charming pick & mix flower bottles – with a set of four arrangements costing £20 and coming in a charming wooden carry case.  On Sunday 15th February, the host will be running a wreath-making workshop, starting at 11 am and lasting 1 hour. Tickets are a little steep at £45, but this price includes a vase, your flowers and all the materials you need to create a beautiful ornament.

The Sexy Valentines Show

The Invisible Dot Ltd

Fri Feb 13 – Sat Feb 14

The Invisible Dot is known for showcasing up and coming talent in the comedy world, and there’s a wealth of material surrounding that crazy little thing called love that all of us can relate to.  Luke McQueen, Mike Wozniak and Adam Hess are just a few of the comics due to perform over Valentine’s at the Dot, and you can expect a playful but distinctly adult feel throughout the evening. The other great thing about the Dot is that it’s really cheap to drink here, with a pint of lager coming in at around £3.50.
