Crafty Fox Christmas Market – Brixton
This family-run craft market offers over 40 stalls displaying quirky and unique creations from budding designers, dressmakers and shoemakers. Held annually by The Dogstar, the varied products for sale include stunning hand-made jewellery, unusual prints and posters, ornaments, and clothes – plus there are workshops in screenprinting and spinning.
As the evening draws in, live DJs take over and provide a liquid soundtrack while you sample the goods on offer from the tea, coffee, cake and beer/wine stalls. You won’t be in a hurry, either – as this venue boasts a late license…

Coldharbour Lane, Brixton
This ‘non-profit, non-political, non-religious and non-sensical’ event sees hundreds upon hundreds of Father Christmases invading London in what must be the jolliest flashmob ever. Often giving out silly gifts and free hugs, the Santas participating in this brilliantly British annual gathering congregate at a different location every year, to be announced soon on their official website. One word of advice – it’s easy to get separated from your companions in the sea of red coats and fluffy beards – we recommend you fashion some kind of wristband or hat that distinguishes your group from the crowd.
