1 – Why choose a unique venue over a more traditional venue?
Using a unique venue for your event will add an extra element of interest and may encourage more to attend.
2 – Will it be more expensive for me to use a unique venue for my next event?
Surprisingly, many unique venues will not cost you any more than you usually pay at one of your usual venues.
3 – Will it be available for my daytime event?
A few unique venues such as museums and attractions may be open to the public during the day, so will only be available for evening hire, but most unique venues welcome daytime events too.
4 – What is the minimum number of guests/delegates I can host an event for?
This varies from venue to venue, so always worth checking capacities first.
5 – What is the AV like? Is it as good as more traditional venues?
Most unique venues have their own in-house AV and production companies and they usually offer state of the art facilities.
6 – What does the room hire include?
This depends on each venue but usually includes the room only with catering, AV etc an additional cost.
7 – Can I use my own caterer?
Most unique venues which don’t offer a DDR rate will have their own preferred suppliers which you will have to use, but a few will allow you to choose your own caterer. In this case there is usually a kitchen buyout fee.
8 – Will the venue be suitable for the type of event I am planning?
This is important to consider, for example you may need somewhere with good acoustics so that speakers can be heard, or you need to create a certain ambience or mood.
9 – Location – will I be able to find a unique venue which is easy to get to?
Most cities in the UK have a treasure trove of unique venues to choose from, so you can be sure that there will be a unique venue in your preferred location.
10 – Is there disabled access in unique venues?
Today most unique venues offer full disabled access, but it is very important to check this before booking to avoid disappointment.
I was so fortunate to have found Carrie and Function Fixers when searching for a unique London conference venue. Being in America, it was challenging, to say the least, to secure an event venue overseas. Carrie went above and beyond in helping me find a perfect venue that was in our budget and that perfectly suited all of our requirements. Thank you, Carrie, for all you did for us. I could not have found such lovely venues without your help.

I found Function Finders online when I had a tight deadline looming and the need to find a blank white space in London for a client. The team immediately jumped onto my search, knowing that I was up against it. They sent through several perfect venues fitting the description, along with all the key information needed for the proposal. Not only were they were incredibly efficient and quick - staying late into the evening to help - they were also very friendly. I would 100% use Function Finders again and would highly recommend to other event agencies.
