Hewell Grange is Grade I listed and was constructed in the late 1800s for Lord and Lady Windsor. It is surrounded by 250 acres of parkland which will also be available to hire for events.
Situated just south of Birmingham, this stunning mansion has gardens created by Capability Brown and an interior in Italianate style.
It is available for filming up until July, when it will undergo some renovations and will be available to hire for a wide range of events.
Hewell Grange is a three storey red sandstone, Jacobean style build, designed by Thomas Garner. There are a further 21 listed buildings and structures within the grounds, which were principally designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the mid 18th Century and later redesigned by Humphry Repton in the early 19th Century.
The ground floor is comprised of a spectacular Italianate style hall with towering ceilings. The side rooms are expansive and have highly detailed ceilings and a plethora of original features. There is a two storey chapel with stained glass windows and marble and lapis lazuli flooring.
The first floor is accessed by a spectacular staircase, which opens into a large lobby with marble columns and stunning roof. The side rooms down the corridors on this level have many period details and fireplaces.
The upper floors were the accommodation when it was used as an open prison and all walls and ceilings were boarded to protect them.
The attic area is massive, with huge pine beams and wooden flooring and ceilings below the roof.
Outside North Face – Spectacular, with formal gardens and statue. A long tree lined drive leads up to the house, through a red sandstone pillared entrance.
There are buildings to the side of the main façade, one being the coach house, and the others being modern kitchens and powerhouse.
The parkland leads down to the large lake.
Outside South Face – Frequently beautifully lit, this has formal beech hedge gardens and on the hill above there is a 4 storey gothic style tower.
There are several side gardens with listed statues and features.
