This private members’ club suits its City environs well, fusing classic architecture with contemporary design. Close to Liverpool Street, Eight Moorgate does a good turn in discreet events with an exclusive atmosphere. The dark wood walls and Chesterfield sofas of the Library make for a pleasing Mad Men-style reception space, and can hold up to 30 guests for meetings, while the conference room – available from spring – can hold 150. For more intimate events, we advise the Finsbury room. The decor here is more muted chic and there’s space for up to six delegates in a boardroom arrangement. The 16-capacity private dining room is great for dinner, and also comes with full AV kit for meetings.
