When Alexis Gauthier acquired the lease to the five storey townhouse at 21 Romilly Street in 2010 he knew straightaway he had something special, a building which oozed charm and individuality, retaining original features and resonating a gorgeous unique atmosphere.
He set about creating a restaurant within its walls, the idea behind which was a ‘tranquil oasis where guests could feel really private and relaxed’. Private dining was therefore at the forefront of the plan when creating Gauthier Soho and this building offered the perfect backdrop to the manifestation.
Additional Notes:
Five elegant rooms offer a really special sense of hospitality, almost like an old private house might function, with bow-tied staff and real fireplaces, carefully chosen artworks and objet d’art and a fully flexible seating and table system, where guests can choose from an almost limitless combination of table plans and layouts.
