Just moments from London Fields and Hackney Central stations, Hackney Town Hall is an award-winning venue that blends historic charm with modern sophistication. This iconic building offers five distinct spaces for weddings, events, and meetings—each filled with natural light, original period features, and striking architectural details.

A prime example of civic Art Deco design, Hackney Town Hall was originally created by architects Lanchester & Lodge and opened in 1937. Today, as a Grade II listed building, it remains a vibrant part of the local community.

Now in its 82nd year, the fully operational Town Hall continues to impress. Its original Assembly Hall features a private entrance and two elegant curved staircases leading to a grand event space. Recent renovations have seamlessly integrated 21st-century design with the building’s historic fabric, including the addition of two glass-roofed atriums that flood the interior with natural light—creating an outdoor feel regardless of the weather.

For ceremonies, the beautifully preserved wood-panelled Council Chamber and Committee Rooms, complete with dramatic chandeliers, offer a timeless and dignified setting.

Venue Facilities:

• Art Deco landmark (Grade II listed), fully refurbished with chandeliers, large windows and an original sprung dance floor.

• Flagship Assembly Hall with a private entrance & grand staircase; can be split into three rooms via partitions. Capacities (guide): up to ~550 standing / ~420 theatre / ~250 dinner.

• Council Chamber & Committee Rooms – wood-panelled, daylight spaces ideal for ceremonies, meetings and breakouts.

• Two glass-roofed Atria (North & South) – striking, light-filled spaces added in the refurbishment; great for receptions, exhibitions and registrations.

• AV & tech: built-in projectors/screens in the Assembly Hall spaces; free Wi-Fi; venue provides basic audio support—live music/DJs typically bring their own PA (with PLI/PAT).

• Location & transport: moments from Hackney Central and London Fields Overground stations; easy East London access for guests and suppliers.
