This wonderful Tudor castle standing proudly on Falmouth’s headland combines ancient history with contemporary style and service to give every corporate event its own ‘wow’ factor. With a choice of areas to hire including its towering 16th century keep, expansive lawns for marquees and banqueting and meeting rooms within a former Edwardian barracks, Pendennis Castle will lift your business event into a truly unique and unforgettable occasion.
Within the castle walls, there are three flexible areas to choose from to best suit your event. Whether you are looking for a smart meeting room, spacious banqueting facilities or something more atmospheric for a drinks reception, Pendennis Castle has perfect spaces for every occasion.
Lower Gun Room
Crossing a stone bridge, your guests enter the castle keep through a wonderful arched doorway with a heavy wooden door and portcullis, topped by the Tudor royal coat of arms. Inside, the unusual octagonal shape of the Lower Gun Room with its thick granite walls and warm wooden flooring, provides an enchanting setting for drinks and canapés. In fine weather, the grassy walled ‘chemise’ which encircles the keep provides an alternative or additional area.
Royal Artillery Barracks
Just a short walk beyond the Tudor keep stands the Royal Artillery Barracks, built in 1901 to house the Royal Garrison Artillery. It is now converted into a smart self-contained suite, with its own private reception area, where you can register your guests. It contains three wheelchair accessible rooms, each benefiting from natural daylight.
Killigrew Room
The largest room, this is especially suited to dining or for daytime conferences – with the Melvill and Arundell rooms supporting it as breakout and/or refreshment rooms. For dinners, they work equally well as bar and dancing/chill out areas.
Marquees
Within the grounds, a large lawned area provides ample room for marquee events on a grand scale, set against the spectacular backdrop of the castle, which is floodlit by night.
