Located on the water’s edge, the unusual fan-shaped castle was built by Henry VIII from local Portland Stone to ward off foreign invasion. Although it did not see active service until the Civil War, this Tudor stronghold was in use until the Second World War.
Portland Castle & Grounds is available for Civil Wedding and Civil Partnership ceremonies and marquee receptions all year round.
Additional Notes:
This 16th century castle boasts a contemporary garden and superb views of shimmering seascapes across Portland Harbour.
