South Place Hotel boasts five private dining rooms on the first floor, which have been designed to facilitate daytime meetings, too: the largest two (Purdey and Steed) interconnect as a single space and can hold 100 people theatre style, up to 120 for a cocktail reception and up to 70 for a sit-down meal. The other three rooms each have a distinctive style and generous space for between 8 and 12 people, seated. All include a panelled wall behind which you will find cloakroom storage and full audio-visual facilities, including a 55-inch Bang & Olufsen television. The rooms take their names from spies and secret agents in The Avengers, The New Avengers and The Men from U.N.C.L.E.
More meet than sleep, South Place Hotel boasts three bars and two restaurants. On the ground floor, 3 South Place buzzes with energy and confidence from dawn till late into the night (when DJs take to the decks in the bar). Atop the hotel, Angler restaurant and roof terrace provide indisputably elegant food and service, with a focus on seafood from Britain’s shores and rivers. And the third bar? Our Garden is something of a secret – a genuinely surprising retreat in the heart of the City.
