The Line
The Line is situated on the Victoria Embankment, just a 5-minute walk from Blackfriars station and right by the East-West Cycle Superhighway, making it easily accessible for a range of visitors. The central location also provides stunning panoramic views of the Thames as well as the OXO Tower and other key buildings located on the city’s Southbank. The venue’s upper floors are designed to maximise the riverside setting, with the 7th floor Skyline wrapped in glass for panoramic views and the 6th floor Highline featuring a spacious roof terrace with a 180-degree view up and down the Thames.
Operating on a Profit-for-Purpose model, every booking made at The Line is an investment in social change rather than just a standard business transaction. 100% of profits made from The Line are gifted back to Nesta, the research and innovation foundation that designs, tests and scales solutions for the biggest challenges of our time. When booking an event at The Line, customers can be assured that their event budget will directly support pioneering work in critical areas such as climate change, early childhood development and national health improvements.
The venue is supported by in-house catering team FIKA; the B Corp foodservice caterer committed to redefining workplace hospitality. They provide award winning catering that focuses on innovative and flavourful dishes whilst maintaining ethical standards.
The Line is equipped with integrated technology solutions, built directly into the rooms as opposed to being part of an external set up. This is optimised to bridge the gap between physical and digital spaces, ensuring a consistent experience for both in-person and virtual attendees. This tech offering is available in both the Skyline, designed by architecture studio ForEveryday.Life, and the Waterline as a core part of its offering. Online, the venue’s dedicated podcast space, is now also available for bookings. Equipped with everything users need to record podcasts in 4K.
The Skyline is situated on the Seventh Floor, where the light-filled, contemporary space is wrapped in glass and offers sweeping, panoramic views of the Thames. With two balconies for guests to enjoy the riverside air paired with a private bar and kitchen and a max capacity of 200 for a reception, 180 for theatre-style, 120 for dinner and 90 for cabaret. In keeping with Nesta’s missions, the design of this space is focused on carbon-careful planning and delivery, utilising UK-sourced materials throughout, including wood flooring and furniture produced from sustainable-friendly forestry, lighting repurposed from old fittings, bar countertops crafted from smart plastics like recycled yogurt pots and acoustic and wall panels created from ocean plastics.
