History oozes from the great beams and ancient brickwork of the Old Thameside Inn, once an old spice warehouse. Behind our pub are the remains of Winchester Palace, which once belonged to Cardinal Wolsey. The cobbled road behind the pub has associations with the original Clink prison and next to us is a full scale replica of Sir Francis Drake’s famous ship – the Golden Hind.
