Live musicians take you back to a time when you sang and danced for the sheer joy of it. Part party, part bar, part restaurant, part concert …
Set in a large Victorian listed landmark warehouse basement in the heart of Farringdon, The Piano Works is a live music venue, bar and restaurant. The concept involves two live pianists with accompanying musicians who play only songs requested by the audience. Behind The Piano Works is serial restaurateur Alan Lorrimer whose vision is to revive the saloon concerts in pubs that preceded our Victorian Music Halls. ‘Singing is the primary form of our earliest human musical activity. It takes something incredibly intimate and personal, a sound or lyric that begins inside you and is then safely shared with a group of strangers that amazingly returns to you as harmony.” says Alan. With music at the core of The Piano Works, musical director Andy Pianoman Johnson, highly talented composer and pianist, employs expert musicians performing a continually current audience requested repertoire. Run by expert cocktail maker and operations director Tristan Moffat, The Piano Works offers a long list of cocktails with a contemporary twist together with a food menu prepared by head chef Fedja Stanic who shelved his plans for his own eponymous non-pop up restaurant to join The Piano Works because of his lifelong love of live music.
