Whitechapel Gallery
London, Central London (E1 7QX)

Housing 3,600 square metres of beautiful and versatile spaces including light and airy studios and large brick-exposed Galleries as well as a purpose-built auditorium, the Whitechapel Gallery is ideal for inspiring and creative events of all kinds.
Founded in 1901, to ‘bring great art to the people of the East End London’, the Whitechapel Gallery occupies a distinctive Arts and Crafts building designed by Charles Harrison Townsend, and re-opened its expanded premises in 2009. The building now houses eight galleries, a restaurant, an auditorium, an archive, library and a dedicated education and research tower.
The education and research tower boasts a beautiful Creative Studio overlooking the rooftops of the city, which provides a stunning setting for daytime and evening events. The former Whitechapel Library, now Gallery 2, retains its original Victorian exposed brickwork and polished concrete floor, creating a versatile backdrop for events of all styles.
The Whitechapel Gallery is a registered charity and by choosing the Gallery for your event you are also supporting the Gallery’s educational and community programmes. Please note that we are not able to hire out the venue for art exhibitions, fundraising activities or publicly promoted events.
