Best Conference Venues in London for 2027: Our Expert Recommendations

London has no shortage of conference venues, but finding the right one isn’t always straightforward. A venue might have an impressive auditorium but limited breakout space, or a fantastic location but little room for networking and exhibitions.

At Function Fixers, we’ve spent more than 35 years helping organisations find venues for conferences, meetings and corporate events. We know that choosing a venue involves much more than matching delegate numbers to room capacities. For 2027, we’ve selected ten London conference venues that we believe are particularly worth considering. They range from historic buildings and impressive auditoriums to contemporary spaces with river views and flexible facilities for larger events.

These aren’t ranked in any particular order. Each offers something different, and the right choice will depend on your event, your delegates and what you’re hoping to achieve.

London Conference Venues at a Glance

Capacities are indicative theatre-style figures and should be checked against the specific room layout and event requirements.

Lambeth Palace: A Historic Setting with a Real Sense of Occasion

There are few conference venues in London quite like Lambeth Palace. Situated on the south bank of the Thames, directly across the river from the Houses of Parliament, this remarkable historic building offers a combination of grandeur, character and an exceptionally convenient central London location. The impressive interiors make it a particularly appealing choice for organisations hosting an important conference, leadership gathering or event where the surroundings need to reflect the significance of the occasion.

With theatre-style conference capacity for up to 220 delegates, Lambeth Palace is well suited to medium-sized conferences. Its extensive gardens are another major attraction, accommodating up to 2,000 guests for suitable outdoor events. This creates opportunities to combine a formal daytime programme with a memorable reception or celebration.

Some venues make an impression before the event has even started, and Lambeth Palace is certainly one of them. I’d suggest this for a conference where the surroundings are as important as the programme itself, particularly if you’re welcoming top-level executives or international delegates.

Best for: Prestigious conferences, senior leadership events, celebratory dinners and receptions.

Standout feature: The combination of historic architecture, a central riverside location and extensive private gardens.

Good to know: The gardens offer considerable scope for outdoor hospitality, although arrangements and permissions will need to be confirmed for individual events.

Together 88 Wood Street: A Contemporary Venue with Exceptional Flexibility

For larger corporate conferences, Together 88 Wood Street is a particularly strong option. Located in the heart of the City of London, it offers contemporary event facilities with the flexibility to accommodate conferences of up to 500 delegates. One of its biggest advantages is the opportunity for exclusive hire, allowing organisers to create a more private and cohesive conference experience. Alongside the main conference space are four breakout rooms and dedicated exhibition facilities, making it suitable for events that need more than a single auditorium. Whether you’re organising workshops, sponsor displays, networking sessions or a combination of activities, the venue offers plenty of possibilities.

The new Level 12 event space and terrace add another dimension, providing an attractive setting for networking and post-conference hospitality.

One of the things we particularly like about this venue is that it allows organisers to keep their conference, breakout sessions and exhibition under one roof, in a totally exclusive environment.

Best for: Corporate conferences, company-wide meetings, exhibitions, product launches and multi-session events.

Standout feature: Exclusive-hire potential, four breakout rooms, exhibition space and the Level 12 terrace.

Good to know: For conferences combining presentations, exhibitions and networking, it’s worth considering how the different areas will be used throughout the day.

IET London: Savoy Place: Outstanding Conference Facilities Beside the Thames

IET London: Savoy Place has established itself as one of London’s most impressive purpose-equipped conference venues.

Situated on the Strand, overlooking the Thames, it combines an excellent central London location with facilities designed for professional conferences and business events. The venue accommodates up to 451 delegates and offers two tiered auditoriums, alongside a substantial selection of smaller meeting and breakout rooms. This makes it particularly suitable for conferences requiring a formal presentation space together with parallel sessions, workshops or smaller meetings. The river views are a major attraction, with many rooms overlooking the Thames. The roof terrace provides an impressive setting for networking and drinks receptions, particularly during the warmer months.

Savoy Place works just as well for a straightforward conference as it does for something more complicated, with multiple breakout sessions. Having two proper auditoriums and a good choice of smaller rooms makes a real difference when you’re planning a busy programme.  The Thames views are also a lovely bonus!

Best for: Association conferences, professional events, seminars, presentations and conferences with multiple sessions.

Standout feature: Two tiered auditoriums, extensive meeting facilities and Thames views.

Good to know: With two auditoriums and numerous additional rooms, there is flexibility to accommodate different conference formats without compromising the main programme.

Battersea Arts Centre: A Conference Venue with Character and Creativity

For organisations wanting to move away from the traditional corporate conference environment, Battersea Arts Centre is an excellent alternative.

This historic arts venue has a very different atmosphere from a conventional conference centre. Its striking architecture, theatrical heritage and imaginative event spaces make it particularly appealing for conferences where creativity, engagement and the overall delegate experience are important. The magnificent Grand Hall provides an impressive setting for larger conferences, accommodating up to 550 delegates theatre-style. Additional spaces can support smaller sessions, workshops and other activities.

Battersea Arts Centre is especially worth considering for organisations looking to create a more memorable experience, rather than simply delivering a series of presentations.

This is a totally unique events venue which lends itself to a wide range of events. It is historic and atmospheric and a far cry from a traditional conference venue.  Don’t be fooled by this though – their onsite team are highly professional and experienced and whatever event you are planning will run like clockwork.

Best for: Creative conferences, company gatherings, away days, cultural events and large-scale presentations.

Standout feature: The spectacular Grand Hall and the building’s distinctive theatrical character.

Good to know: The venue’s historic architecture creates a wonderful atmosphere, but production requirements, staging and delegate movement should be considered carefully when planning the event.

Mary Ward House: Historic Charm and Practical Conference Facilities

Tucked away in Bloomsbury, Mary Ward House is one of those London venues that can easily be overlooked. Behind its historic exterior is a collection of attractive and versatile event spaces that work particularly well for conferences requiring a main meeting room alongside smaller breakout areas. The Mary Ward Hall accommodates up to 350 delegates theatre-style, making it suitable for medium-sized conferences, while the additional rooms provide flexibility for workshops, seminars and smaller group discussions.

What makes Mary Ward House particularly appealing is its combination of period character and practical conference facilities. It offers something more individual than a standard meeting venue without sacrificing the functionality organisers need. Its Bloomsbury location is also convenient for delegates travelling from different parts of London and beyond.

This unique venue is quite unique. It has so much character, yet still offers the practical facilities you need for a successful conference, with a good choice of smaller rooms for breakout sessions.

Best for: Association conferences, educational events, training programmes, seminars and conferences requiring breakout rooms.

Standout feature: Characterful historic interiors and a useful selection of rooms of different sizes.

Good to know: The variety of rooms makes it a good option for conferences with several different sessions, although organisers should consider how delegates will move between spaces.

Events @ No 6: A Modern Conference Venue Designed for Business Events

Events @ No 6 is a contemporary conference and events venue close to Aldgate, offering bright, modern facilities and considerable flexibility. With conference capacity for up to 250 delegates, it is well suited to organisations looking for a professional, purpose-equipped setting without the formality of a traditional institutional venue.

The range of event spaces allows organisers to combine larger presentations with smaller meetings, workshops and networking sessions. Its modern design also provides an attractive environment for delegates spending a full day at a conference. An additional attraction is the rooftop event space and terrace, offering the opportunity to incorporate a reception or informal networking into the programme.

Best for: Professional conferences, association meetings, training days, seminars and corporate presentations.

Standout feature: Contemporary conference facilities combined with rooftop hospitality space.

Good to know: For events planning to use the rooftop following the conference make sure that you make contingency plans in case of bad weather.

One Moorgate Place: An Impressive City Venue for Professional Conferences

Located in the heart of London’s financial district, One Moorgate Place is an excellent choice for conferences where a professional setting and a strong central location are important.

Home to Chartered Accountants’ Hall, the venue combines historic architecture with dedicated conference and meeting facilities. The impressive Great Hall accommodates up to 270 delegates theatre-style, while the venue also offers a purpose-built auditorium and several smaller rooms suitable for meetings, workshops and breakout sessions. The combination of traditional surroundings and modern facilities gives One Moorgate Place a distinctive appeal, particularly for professional organisations and associations.

Its City location is another advantage, with convenient access to Moorgate, Bank and Liverpool Street.

Best for: Financial services conferences, professional association events, AGMs, seminars and corporate meetings.

Standout feature: The impressive Great Hall and the choice between historic and purpose-built conference spaces.

Good to know: The Great Hall and auditorium provide different settings for presentations, so the format of the conference will help determine which works best.

No. 11 Cavendish Square: A Versatile Conference Venue in the West End

Finding a conference venue with good breakout facilities, outdoor space and a genuinely central London location isn’t always easy. No. 11 Cavendish Square offers all three.

Just moments from Oxford Circus, this elegant Georgian building houses a collection of contemporary conference and meeting spaces, including the Burdett Suite, Marlborough Theatre and several smaller rooms. With conference capacity for up to 225 delegates, it is particularly suitable for medium-sized corporate conferences, seminars and professional events.

One of its most attractive features is the Orangery and courtyard, offering a welcome opportunity for delegates to step outside during breaks or enjoy networking away from the main conference room.

Best for: Corporate conferences, professional seminars, training events and meetings combining presentations with networking.

Standout feature: A central West End location, flexible conference spaces and an attractive courtyard.

Good to know: The Burdett Suite benefits from its own entrance and access to the courtyard, making it a particularly useful option for events requiring a more self-contained setting.

The Line: Contemporary Conferences with Panoramic River Views

The Line offers something refreshingly different for conferences and corporate events. Situated on Victoria Embankment, just a short walk from Blackfriars station, this contemporary venue combines flexible event facilities with spectacular views across the Thames.

For conferences of up to 160 delegates, the venue offers a modern setting that feels less conventional than many traditional conference spaces. The light-filled interiors, integrated technology and riverside location make it particularly attractive for presentations, leadership meetings and creative corporate events. Its upper-floor spaces, including Skyline and Highline, provide further opportunities for networking and hospitality, with panoramic views and access to outdoor areas.

The Line also has an interesting social-impact story, operating on a profit-for-purpose basis, with profits supporting Nesta’s work.

Another great conference venue with a contemporary feel and wonderful Thames views. It’s a great choice for companies wanting a professional conference setting that feels a little less formal, with the added bonus of impressive spaces for networking afterwards.

Best for: Corporate conferences, leadership meetings, creative presentations, networking events and organisations seeking a contemporary setting.

Standout feature: Panoramic Thames views, stylish event spaces and rooftop hospitality areas.

Good to know: The venue is approximately five minutes’ walk from Blackfriars station, making it convenient for delegates travelling into central London.

The Brewery: A Leading Choice for Large London Conferences

For large corporate conferences, The Brewery remains one of London’s most established and versatile event venues. Located on Chiswell Street, close to the Barbican and Moorgate, this historic former brewery offers an impressive collection of event spaces with the scale and flexibility needed for substantial conferences.

The magnificent Porter Tun accommodates up to 900 delegates theatre-style, making it particularly attractive for large company conferences, industry gatherings and events with a substantial audience. Beyond the main conference space, the venue offers additional rooms that can be used for smaller meetings, workshops, networking and hospitality.

The historic surroundings bring character to large corporate events, while the venue’s established event infrastructure supports more complex programmes.

The Brewery can accommodate large conferences without feeling like a conventional conference centre. The historic surroundings give it real character, while the variety of event spaces makes it easy to combine presentations, breakout sessions and networking under one roof.

Best for: Large corporate conferences, industry events, company-wide meetings, exhibitions and awards ceremonies.

Standout feature: The scale of the Porter Tun, combined with the building’s historic character and additional event spaces.

Good to know: For conferences involving several rooms or exhibition areas, it’s important to consider how the different spaces will work together and whether the event requires exclusive use of particular areas.

How Do You Choose the Right London Conference Venue?

The best conference venue isn’t necessarily the largest, most impressive or most expensive. It’s the one that works best for the people attending and the programme you’re planning.

Delegate numbers are an obvious starting point, but capacity alone rarely tells the whole story. A conference for 200 people with a single presentation session has very different requirements from one with 200 delegates attending workshops, visiting exhibition stands and moving between several breakout rooms.

Location is another important consideration. If delegates are travelling from across the country, proximity to mainline railway stations may be more important than being in a particular London postcode.

It’s also worth thinking about what happens outside the main conference sessions. Are there suitable areas for registration, refreshments and networking? Will delegates have enough space during breaks? If you’re planning an evening reception, can it take place at the same venue?

For conferences with several different activities, the relationship between the rooms can be just as important as their individual capacities.

And finally, don’t underestimate the atmosphere. A historic building might be perfect for a prestigious association event, while a contemporary venue with flexible spaces may be better suited to a creative or technology-focused conference.

These are all things worth considering before committing to a venue.
